Success in real life.
Way to Grow is proud to work with many families and children to help them succeed every day. And it’s working. Here are just a few stories about our real-life successes:
All about Abi.
At 3 years old, Abi was developmentally behind and violently acting out against his mother and caregivers. By helping his mother, Marina, practice better parenting skills, our family educators turned Abi’s behavior around. Soon he was speaking in full sentences and controlling his behavior toward others.
More love for Luis.
Luis was a smart and active bilingual 5-year-old. But his speech and behavior raised some concerns. Upon explaining to his parents that Luis needed to be taught differently, our family educator tried new ways of teaching him. Within a few home visits, Luis went from disruptive to well behaved and ready to learn at kindergarten.
Amy’s new confidence.
Amy was very shy and never even spoke to her own family. Her father was rightfully concerned that she was behind academically and socially. So he called Way to Grow. Through our Preschool Pals program and in-home visits, Amy soon became confident, outgoing and even made the new kids in class feel welcome.
Love for Laura and Joey.
Laura and Joey lived in a studio apartment with only a mattress on the floor and a table with two plastic chairs. At 4 years old, Joey was still in diapers and didn’t speak much. Laura, his mother, was pregnant and had diabetes. With our help, Laura and Joey were connected to the services they needed to stabilize their lives.
